Omphalos concludes the 2026 L++ Life Modeling Workshop in Korea
Aug 2026
From July 8 to August 10, 2026, Omphalos and its Virtual Cell / Digital Twin Alliance partners took part in a six-week program on AI-assisted computational modeling of biological systems. Led by CEO Donghoon Lee, the program brought together participants from KRIBB's KPEC and Immunotherapy Center, Yonsei University College of Pharmacy, and InSiliCox.
Eighteen participants formed five interdisciplinary teams. Each participant built a multiscale kinetic model in L++, then combined their work with their team's models to represent larger biological systems. Projects covered colorectal cancer, HER2-positive breast cancer, EGFR-mutant lung cancer, adipocyte pharmacology and senescence, and spatial modeling of lung tumors with CAR-NK cell infiltration.
Participants used AI to research mechanisms, build kinetic models, debug code, and analyze simulation results. They also defined model boundaries, documented the sources of model parameters, and designed controls. The workshop supported Omphalos's view that AI can make multiscale modeling more accessible while researchers remain responsible for scientific validation and judgment.
