Omphalos joins ARPA-H BIOGAMI

Oct 2026

Omphalos is joining Team SEEDS as part of ARPA-H's BIOGAMI program (BIOmolecular Grammar for protein Aggregation Modulation and Intervention). The work supports Omphalos's vision of a virtual human built from mechanistic models of human biology. BIOGAMI focuses on the earliest stages of protein dysfunction, before disordered proteins misfold or aggregate and cause lasting damage. Team SEEDS was awarded up to $51.7 million over four years, with an initial focus on Alzheimer's disease and Ewing sarcoma. Omphalos will contribute its virtual cell modeling approach to help researchers understand protein aggregation and explore potential treatments.

Team SEEDS is co-led by Priyanka Joshi of Georgetown University and Chuankai (Kai) Zhou of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. Academic partners include the University of Maryland (Baltimore and Baltimore County), CIRMMP, Stanford University, UCSF, the University of Denver, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Industry partners include Nautilus Biotechnology, Nanost, Emergente, Neuroene Therapeutics, Post Translational Medicines, and Praio.

Omphalos thanks ARPA-H, BIOGAMI Program Manager Shannon Greene, and Team SEEDS co-principal investigators Priyanka Joshi and Chuankai Zhou for their leadership and support.
